“Wandering Through Minnesota”

Dee Teller has created a whole new series of paintings using the ancient artist’s approach to these pieces. When Chinese scholars wanted to write poetry about a mountain or wanted to paint the essence of a mountain – they wandered. Getting on horseback, they would cover the mountain in seven days and then return to write or paint.

Dee has chosen to paint three areas of Minnesota and has wandered all over the state to accomplish her goals. Her new show, “SKY-HORSE-WATER-EARTH” puts the Flying Horses she is famous for in the environment of Pipestone National Monument, the Bluff Country around Winona, and among the rocks, trees and water of the North Shore. Fitting with the scholarly approach, she has written the message on each painting in ancient Chinese calligraphy.

A showing was held at the Owatonna Arts Center. The reception was on July 12th.
